Whereas I spent a while complaining concerning the newest movie adaptation of Jane Austen’s movie Senses and sensitivityI need to admit that I used to be at all times extra apprehensive about this Netflix mini-series adaptation of Austen’s movie Delight and prejudice. I like a number of the actors concerned and I feel it is really very intelligent to have Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennett. I used to be additionally intrigued by the selection of Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennett. Corrin is such a gifted actor, and it is refreshing to see somebody who is not a “cookie-cutter magnificence” play Lizzy. No disrespect, however you already know what I imply? Though Keira Knightley was put in drag within the 2005 P&P, you could possibly nonetheless see that she was a strikingly stunning girl, and that fits Lizzy. With Corrin trying like this, their Lizzy is fairly disreputable. Corrin might have been a more sensible choice for Persuasion Anne Elliot. Effectively, anyway, the total trailer is right here. Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy, simply FYI.
One thing is lacking, one thing is improper. I am going to nonetheless give it an opportunity. Primarily as a result of I feel Jack is an attention-grabbing Darcy. However it all will depend on whether or not Darcy and Lizzy have that chemistry, and I am unsure. Jack’s Darcy is brooding very effectively, so no less than that is it. Enjoyable reality: that is Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennett.
